There has been lots of work and progress in the last few weeks
October 30th, 2008A big sigh of relief for all those involved in the due diligence work. With all councils breaking the back of the strategic components of the data collection, the consultants can commence work on crunching the numbers. Although the job is far from over with many councils still putting significant effort into extracting the data and information required, the key part of the job is now done.
Having attended the Owners’ Representatives Meetings to select the Board members I was pleased that the quality of candidates was so strong and the resultant decisions by the Owners’ Representatives have been so broadly supported. This is a good start to getting the new companies underway. Have a look on the website to see the Board Members that have been selected.
I have received letters of consent from most councils to become members of the new entities and will be attending a meeting of the Implementation Joint Steering Committee this week.
A number of employee questions have been raised in recent times in relation to tenure and various elements of the water and sewerage businesses and I hope to be able to post answers to many of these questions on the website in the near future.
